Delhi: Once again a bloody conflict between gangs has come to light in Seelampur, the northeastern area of Delhi. About 20 rounds of firing took place on Tuesday night, in which a shooter allegedly of the Hashim Baba gang was killed. The name of the person killed in this attack is said to be Misbah, who earlier worked in the Chhenu gang and later joined the Hashim Baba gang.
According to the police, Misbah was riding in his car when some miscreants riding a bike surrounded him near Jama Masjid and fired about 15 to 20 bullets. He fell in the street, and the accused fled from the scene.
The police had registered more than 17 cases of murder, robbery, and many other crimes against Misbah. It is said that he came out of jail on bail only this year. The investigation is also suggesting that the murder could be an act of revenge.
The local police station in Seelampur took possession of the body, and it was sent to GTB Hospital for post-mortem. Meanwhile, the police team has become active in search of the accused.
This incident is a matter of concern in view of the increasing gang war in Delhi. The sound of guns, the firing of bullets, and an atmosphere of fear are becoming common within the city on a regular basis. This raises questions about the state of law and order—especially in areas where gangs are prominent.
It is also being said that there was chaos in the area immediately after the incident. During the firing, nearby shopkeepers closed their shops, and people started running here and there to save their lives. When the police received information, heavy force was deployed on the spot so that the situation could be brought under control. At present there is tension in the area, and patrolling has been increased to avoid any untoward incident.
There is an atmosphere of panic among the local people after this incident. Many residents say that incidents of crime are increasing day by day in Seelampur and its surrounding areas, due to which it has become difficult for people to go out at night. At the same time, police officials say that a continuous campaign is being conducted to break the network of gangs operating in the city, and soon all the accused will be caught.
